Hey! It’s been a while. Yes, just like everything. It’s not easy to be consistent. But we are able to try again, and again, and again, and again if we choose to.

Open Source

Open source projects are one of the most important and powerful projects in todays comupting world, I’d say. It probably is a fact if I say “every single app or web” or basically just anything computer / smartphone depends on at least one open source project (proably MUCH more). While I believe in fair compensation of course, but I also believe in a truly awesome thing - be it software, painting, novel, music, whatever - is born when the creator is working on it for its own sake, not for the compensation. And I think that’s one of the reasons why Open Source products are so powerful. At its core, it’s all about just fun and passion for programming. Having said that, and I’m repeating this, it will be GREAT and only fair if these people can be compensated in some way, at least the major contributors. Then it’ll be difficult “how to define” the main contributors, etc., etc., but you get the idea.

Anyway! Some time has passed since my last post, and feels like Covid is finally losing its spotlight and the world is slowly heading towards its new normal. And some happy things happened! I was studying some HTTP on MDN and found a typo! So I made the fix, and submitted a pull request and it got approved. And it means that my code is merged into MDN’s codebase! Okay I know that’s a lot of exaggeration, because I made a change to their documentation only (I think it was an .md file), but well, let me exaggerate a bit, will you? :)

MDN

And guess what, I did it again with Julia programming language!

Julia Lang

Look at me go! Fixing English typos (and I’m a Korean) all over the web! Haha. Anyway, so I am officially an open source project contributor to two great projects! Very happy, and I hope I can someday contribute to actual codes :P.
